Highlights of the 2025 Programme
- Tuesday 18 November – AI and Homeland Security: Promises and Prospects
This opening session offers an unprecedented overview of how AI is contributing to homeland security, from operational innovation and legal considerations to technological sovereignty. It’s a strategic opportunity to dissect tomorrow’s challenges and foster dialogue among policymakers, experts and practitioners.
- Wednesday 19 November – From Investigation to Cold Cases
A day highlighting innovations redefining investigations: augmented crime scenes, advanced trace exploitation and AI-driven criminal threat analysis. A unique insight will be provided into the cold cases division at the Nanterre Judicial Court. Leveraging databases and breakthroughs in forensic genealogy, AI opens new pathways for investigating unresolved cases and considering future approaches to complex investigations.
- Thursday 20 November – Cybercrime and Data Analysis
At the heart of homeland security challenges, this session will underline the role of new technologies and data analytics in predicting and dismantling criminal networks, especially those tied to drug trafficking. Topics such as blockchain, the dark web, connected devices and multi-source data will be debated by experts, judges and international agencies, to anticipate digital evidence and tomorrow’s investigations.
- Friday 21 November – Post Disaster Identification
This content will emphasise international cooperation in response to mass disasters, featuring firsthand insights from field specialists, forensic professionals and global organisations. Scientific innovations (rapid DNA analysis, facial reconstruction, digital tools) will be presented alongside the human and ethical dimensions. A special emphasis will be placed on migration-related disasters, addressing the vital challenge of victim identification and dignity.

A Programme Designed by a Recognised Expert
The 2025 scientific programme was developed by Sébastien Aguilar, founding President of FORENSEEK and a forensic scientist at the Paris Police Prefecture. A specialist trained in forensic science at the University of Lausanne and author of several reference publications, he advocates for a collaborative, ethical and accessible approach to forensic science—serving both professionals and the general public.
